The recent Celebration of Yukon Land and Water was a real success!
Thanks to a wonderful opening prayer circle around the fire and all the great performances by the Dakhka Khwaan Dancers, MCs Claire Ness and Victor Kisoun, guest speakers, and entertainment by Grandma Susie, Lee Menell, Sara Newton, Steve Slade, Nicole Edwards, Kevin Barr, Soul Migration, Blues Cargo with Annie Avery and Manfred Janssen.
And of course thank you to all the people who donated their time, money, food or whatever else to this important cause.
Over 300 people came to support our efforts to keep the Yukon frack-free and to enjoy a “real Yukon party!”
We came together to celebrate and stand united for what is dear to our hearts: the land, the water and all living beings.
We also came together to send a clear message to the government: that together we are strong and together we will move mountains!
A big heartfelt thank you to all of you who came to celebrate.
