Open letter to David Morrison and Hector Campbell of Yukon Energy Corporation:
Our organization foresees the current Yukon Energy proceeding, to get regulatory permission for the diesel to liquefied natural gas conversion project, is all “smoke and mirrors.”
You swore under oath this week that this project will provide a net benefit to Yukon ratepayers of electricity for years to come.
When you bring this total project cost forward to place the $40 million plus onto the rate base, if you do not apply to raise our electrical rates, I will personally eat my word by making a public apology to the both of you along with my resignation as a Utilities Consumers’ Group advocate.
If you do apply to raise our rates to make up the revenue requirements for these costs, then you will apologize to the Yukon public for deceiving us and promptly resign your positions.
