I agree with Marlon Davis in her letter of last week in which she said that we as a society and individuals need to take responsibility for our waste, and not complain so much about paying fees to cover the expense.
I don’t like paying more for things any more than the next person, but we need to curb our consumerism and learn to reuse and recycle instead of always buy new.
Paying a fair fee for disposal seems one way of encouraging people to think about what we all contribute to landfills and the waste problem in general.
