Six charged in Whitehorse drug ring

Police raided two homes, seized tens of thousands of dollars in drugs, and arrested six men in a sting last week.

The operation began after police arrested two men on July 13. Police sought warrants under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and entered homes in Copper Ridge and Riverdale.

More than 14.5 pounds of marijuana and $15,000 in cash were seized at the homes. The pot’s street value was estimated at more than $30,000.

Six men were charged with trafficking. William Lee Huebschwerlen, 47, Yi Ming Liu, 52, Guo Hua Qiu, 50, Kaitai Kevin Qiu, 18, Frank Yat Fan Tse, 52 and Eric Chun-Kit Tai, 30, have been since released on bail.

Tse and Tai also face charges of possessing property obtained by crime.
