Yukon employment falls by 439 jobs in December 2025

The number of people working in the Yukon is showing some signs of softening.
The numbers provided by the Yukon Bureau of Statistics on Feb.26 show that in December of 2025, the Yukon had 24,952 jobs, a decrease of 439 jobs compared to December 2024.
The report further stated that compared to November of 2025, the number of jobs decreased by 444, or 1.7 per cent.
Compared to December 2024, the number of jobs in service-producing industries decreased by 166, while goods-producing industries saw a decrease of 244 jobs. Of the sectors for which data are available, the largest decreases were in public administration (437 jobs), followed by construction (130 jobs) and accommodation and food services (84 jobs). The sectors with the largest increases were professional, scientific and technical services (114 jobs), trade (98 jobs) and health care and social assistance (75 jobs).
